Section for teachers and head teachers
For schools
School day on Tuesday, 24 November, and online workshops in the morning from 16 to 19 November. Pre-registration for the school day by 12 November.
Blockades and sanctions are teaching material for economics, politics and ethics: who bears the cost of a measure meant to hit others? What may a bank do, and what must it do? Where does caution end and shared responsibility begin?
Pre-registration for the school day by 12 November to info@aciel-martinez-poll.com, with year group, number of pupils and preferred language. Teachers and accompanying adults on site free. Free cancellation up to 7 days before the date.
Aims and links to the curriculum
- Economics: costs of sanctions, banks, supply chains, over-compliance.
- Politics: international law, EU law, the Blocking Statute, human rights and political prisoners in Cuba.
- Ethics: freedom, responsibility, dignity.
- Spanish, Drama, German: area studies, listening comprehension, drama education, writing.

Full package
The four morning workshops online (W1, W4, W7, W10) and the school day on site for the same class, with preparation sheet: 48 € per pupil. Individual prices together 60 € (four online workshops at 10 € each, school day on site 20 €), you save 12 €. This lets a class prepare a topic, experience it and discuss it afterwards.
Day booking
Only the school day or a single workshop. Online, the class takes part together on one device in the classroom, with the teacher present. The class appears only under the school’s name, without pupils’ names; camera and microphone in the room stay off. There is a waiting room, no recording and no chat. Zoom link after payment.
Conditions under the Beutelsbach Consensus
- Prohibition of overwhelming: The programme does not prescribe an opinion. It does not end with a vote.
- Controversy: Several perspectives are presented, the effect of sanctions from outside as well as obstacles within the country itself. What is controversial in academia and politics appears as controversial.
- One author’s view: The play, book and workshops come from one author and show his view. The preparation sheet sets out the positions of the US government, the EU, the Cuban government and human rights organisations alongside, with sources.
- Pupil orientation: Pupils compare positions, ask their own questions and form their own judgement.
No party advertising, no petitions, no calls to demonstrate, no request to pupils to donate. Pupils are not filmed. The evening events are not part of the schools programme. No collection is taken on the school day and the audience is not photographed or filmed.
