Fundraiser: the costs of the week
For venues, technical equipment and contributors. Separate from the donations for the people of Cuba.
What it is for
Helfen statt Blockieren 2026 has costs: venues for the evenings in Berlin, technical equipment for the stage and the online workshops, and the contributors. Aciel Martinez Poll organises the week as an individual, independently and without ties to any party or government. It is financed by tickets, sponsorship and this fundraiser.
The fundraiser covers only the costs of the week.
Separate from donations for Cuba. Donations for the people of Cuba go directly to the aid organisations, not to the organiser and not through this fundraiser: see Donations. Money from the fundraiser does not go to Cuba.

Please quote the reference so that the contribution is not mistaken for a ticket payment. A contribution is not a payment for tickets; tickets are only available via Tickets.
Nothing in return
- Contributions receive nothing in return: no tickets, no naming as a sponsor, no discount.
- The organiser is not a registered charity and does not issue donation receipts.
- A contribution is a personal gift (Schenkung) to Aciel Martinez Poll and is not tax-deductible.
Rules
- No money from parties, embassies, governments or state-owned companies.
- Before accepting anything, we check contributors against the EU financial sanctions lists. Contributions we may not accept are returned.
- Money buys no influence on content.
Transparency
After the week we will publish here what came in and what it was spent on. People who contribute 1,000 € or more are named only with their consent, smaller contributions only on request. Privacy: Datenschutz (German).
In preparation: in-kind aid
Alongside the week, Helfen statt Blockieren is preparing its own in-kind aid for people in Cuba: wheelchairs and non-perishable food. Collection will only begin once a partner on the ground and an authorised recipient are confirmed. See Donations.
